Open to the Public
At The Serpent Center – the first weekend of each month – the general public can explore the fascinating world of venomous reptiles.
OPEN: First weekend of the month:
- Saturday and Sunday
- 12 noon until 5:00 pm,
(last admission at 4:30 pm).
Admission starts at:
- $6 for kids under 13 (plus tax)
- $8 for adults (plus tax)
- Children under 5 are free.
One of the Center’s main attractions is its diverse collection of venomous snakes, both native to the southeastern United States and exotic species from around the world.
Through these exhibits, visitors gain a firsthand look at snakes they may never encounter otherwise; Bushmasters – the largest pit viper in the world to Gaboon Vipers – with the largest fangs. Native copperheads, rattlesnake to rare Chinese Mangshan Vipers..
Each exhibit includes educational plaques that describe the species’ characteristics, habitat, geographical range map, venom properties, and ecological role.
The Serpent Center is home to an impressive variety of venomous snakes, each showcased in carefully designed habitats that allow visitors to observe their unique behaviors up close, and allows the Serpent Center to reach a wider audience, ensuring that everyone can benefit from its educational offerings.
Private Tours
Starting at $150+
One of The Serpent Center’s highlights is the Private Tour program. A customized experience allowing groups to engage directly with William Beard and his knowledgeable staff and have the opportunity to learn about, and observe the snakes up close.
During a Private Tour, visitors learn about the various snake species and their traits, habitats, venom and conservation, gaining insights and knowledge to enrich their appreciation for snakes.
Private Tours are available for small groups-up to 5 people, and larger groups upon request.
Tours start at 90 minutes, and include a venomous snake education and live demonstrations.
Pricing for a Private Tour is based on # of guests and length of time requested.

Availability is limited, as dates for tours and classes must be booked in advance, and may be scheduled up to 6 months prior.
All Private Tours and Classes must be paid upon scheduling.
Reserved dates are guaranteed once payment is received.
